Monero buying FAQ

How do I buy? +

Accept the price once when creating the contract. After seller approval, bank details appear and the 90-minute payment window starts immediately. The seller must receive your transfer within that window. Afterwards, you can report a dispute from the contract.

Why is the price above the market reference? +

Reference price: CoinGecko / CoinPaprika XMR/EUR. Markup: 15%. XMR = EUR ÷ (CoinGecko / CoinPaprika XMR/EUR × (1 + 15 ÷ 100)). XMR is rounded down to 12 decimal places (1 XMR = 10¹² piconeros). No additional platform fee.

Is my price guaranteed? +

The saved price and XMR amount do not change. The seller approves the contract, checks receipt and sends XMR manually. LocalMonero provides no escrow or independent dispute arbitration. Never initiate payment after expiry.

Is this a Hodl Hodl contract? +

Independent LocalMonero contracts, manually managed. No Hodl Hodl integration or escrow. A personal wallet does not make a bank transfer anonymous or remove possible identity checks by payment providers.

Is email required? +

Yes. A valid email address is required for contract creation and transaction updates. Check it carefully and look in your spam folder if a notification is missing.

Which Monero address should I use? +

Use a Monero mainnet receiving address. Its format and checksum are checked, but you must verify ownership and any deposit requirements of your wallet provider.

Does no KYC mean anonymous? +

No. LocalMonero currently requests no identity documents. Bank transfers and blockchain transactions leave records; other providers may require identity checks.

Will I receive XMR within one hour? +

The usual target is around one hour. Availability, manual review, bank settlement and Monero confirmations can extend that time.

Why can the IBAN change? +

A bank account is assigned when the operator approves a contract. Always use the beneficiary and IBAN displayed in that contract.

What if the payment is late? +

Do not initiate payment after the deadline. If money was already sent or the transfer is delayed, contact the operator through the private chat.

How do I contact the operator? +

Open your private contract link and use its chat. Email notifications alert you to changes and new messages; keep the link confidential.
